The graphic design collection of the Musée des Arts décoratifs is one of the richest and oldest French collections consecrated to this artistic practice. However, since 2009 and the invitation of the Musée au duo Antoine + Manuel, the collections have been jointly enriched principally by monographic donations mostly from graphic designers themselves. More than 700 pieces enter into the museum each year.
From this range we have selected 300 pieces to offer a portrait of the diverse graphic universe featuring works by Frédéric Teschner, Pierre Di Scullio, Les Graphiquants, Jocelyn Cottencin, M/M (Pris_, deValence, Fanette Mellier, Change is good, Irma Boom, H5, Yorgo Tloupas…They give the opportunity to measure the heterogeneity of the field of graphic design, and to understand how these works use experimentation and hybridisation to feed off the constraints and reflection linked to their clients.
